In its decision of Thursday, August 7, the Constitutional Council censored the most contested article of the Duplomb law , concerning the reintroduction of acetamiprid, a pesticide from the neonicotinoid family banned in France since 2018. The high court, on the other hand, validated the provisions facilitating intensive breeding and the creation of "mega-basins" (with two reservations for this last measure).
A month after the law was passed by Parliament, the opinion of the institution on Rue de Montpensier was eagerly awaited, as the text was the subject of a petition calling for its repeal, which gathered more than 2.1 million signatures on the National Assembly website.
